During my first years as a photographer, I spent way too much time trying to figure out everything myself. My workflow was inefficient, my website was crap, my editing was inconsistent and looking back on my pricing makes me want to slap myself in the face. With a chair.
I’ve learned many lessons since I started working as a full-time photographer 10 years ago. And I'd love to share these with you, so you don't have to cringe as hard as I do when I think about all the time and money I've wasted.

Firgen
Location: The belgian ardennes
Firgen is a community for photographers based on the idea of genuine, unselfish delight or pride in the accomplishment of another person.
After a completely sold out first edition in 2020, an even more successfull online edition in 2021 ànd yearly double editions every since, Elke and I decided there's no way we can ever stop organizing this amazing get-away.
I left for Firgen with a head full of doubts and a serious case of "imposter syndrome." I came back with the certainty that I wanted to make photography my main profession. Do I need to say more?
I learned so much from the intense group discussions, from shamelessly chatting and laughing about our fuck-ups (because everyone's going to go wrong once!), and from the genuine feedback from everyone in the group. These three days in the Ardennes not only gave me a much clearer picture of where I want to go, I also went home with lots of enthusiasm and a lot of concrete steps to grow my business.
